LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson College women's track and field team got wins on the day from
Marley Kurey and
Annie Leder, in addition to collecting multiple Top-10 finishes on Saturday afternoon at the Blue-White Invite hosted by Franklin and Marshall College.
Sprints
Three members of the Red and White competed in the 60m with
Emily Chaine nabbing 15th at 8.45, while
Maddie Kyle just missed the Top-20 placing 21st with an 8.56.
Emma Dice rounded out the group in 37th (9.14). With hurdles added to that distance Leder placed sixth thanks to a 9.73, followed by
Lily Cusa and
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh in 14th (10.54) and 15th (10.61) respectively.
The 200m saw Chaine claim sixth by hitting the line in 27.85 and Kyle cross in 16th with a 29.02.
Dickinson would earn a sixth-place finish during the 300m thanks to
Abbe Kitchin stopping the clock at 43.71.
In the 400m, Kurey posted a second-place result with a 1:01.18, followed two spots later by Kitchin (1:02.67). Cusa finished off the Top-10 at 1:07.50 as Dice grabbed 16th (1:09.83).
Kurey nabbed her victory during the 500m by hitting the stripe in 1:20.53.
Distance
Devon Culberson earned a Top-10 finish for the 800m claiming ninth with a 2:35.61, while
Lauren Scott crossed at 2:41.90 for 21st. The same duo went to work in the mile with Culberson clocking in at 5:51.73 for seventh and Scott posting a 6:10.42 for 22nd.
The trio of
Amiyah Priebe,
Elizabeth Barbash and
Myra Naqvi had a strong go in the 3000m taking second (10:30.57), third (10:30.76) and fourth (10:52.26).
Meghan Higgins-Haas also found herself in the Top-10 nabbing eighth at 11:22.18.
Emma VanMeter and
Emma Lewis also competed locking up 18th (12:28.98) and 26th (13:12.61).
Two members of the Red and White earned Top-10 slots during the 5000m as
Breanna Franchak claimed third at 19:14.77, while
Maddie Garber hit line in 19:57.09 for eighth.
Rebecca Roberts stayed inside the Top-20 with a 20:54.32 (17th) and
Jenna Kerns seized 23rd thanks to a 21:28.46.
Relays
Dickinson landed in fifth for the 4x400m as the unit of
Sophia Kovalski, Garber, Naqvi and Priebe crossed at 4:23.04.
Field
Leder had a great day at the jump pit as she won the long jump with a leap of 5.46m, before repeating the performance for the triple jump by hitting the sand at 11.09m.
A trio went to work during the pole vault with
Lily Swain and McMaken-Marsh grabbing sixth (3.03m) and 13th (2.73m). Franchak eclipsed 1.83m for 22nd.Â
The duo
Jenna Deep and
Leah Biwott went to work in the shot put claiming 14th (10.06m) and 35th (8.29m) respectively. Deep then turned around and posted a toss of 13.24m during the weight throw for ninth, while
Damien Labrada dropped down at 12.74m for 12th.
Catarina Acosta rounded out the Devil athletes in the event with a 34th place finish courtesy of a 9.03m throw.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Saturday when they head to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to compete in the Susquehanna University Invite starting at 10am.
