SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's outdoor track and field team sent a select group of athletes to Shippensburg University on Wednesday to compete in the Shippensburg Midweek Invite. The Red and White picked up a pair of wins and multiple Top-10s on the day.
Sprints
Erin Olsavsky collected the first win of the day for Dickinson by topping the field in the 100m with a time of 12.55, while
Emily Chaine clocked in at 13.49 for seventh.
Chaine was then back on the track for the 200m where she grabbed sixth after hitting the line in 27.82.
Distance
Devon Culberson finished in 13th during the 800m crossing at 2:40.56. She then went back to the track for the 1500m and fell just outside of the Top-5 nabbing sixth by hitting the line in 5:25.84.
Elizabeth Barbash added another win to the Dickinson total in the 5000m with a time of 17:44.97.
Field
In the throws,
Jenna Deep went to work in the discus claiming 17th with a toss of 26.57m. She also competed in a large field for both the hammer and shot put seizing sixth and 16th following marks of 42.86m and 10.18m. After a solid showing in the 100m, Olsavsky occupied 12th in the javelin posting a distance of 29.23m.
At the pole vault pit,
Lily Swain and
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh posted finishes of seventh (3.25m) and 13th (2.80m).
Next on the Track
The Red Devils will head over to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday to compete in the Coach P Invite hosted by Moravian University starting at 10am.
