ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Dickinson women's outdoor track and field team collected multiple victories and claimed numerous Top-10 finishes on Saturday at the Muhlenberg College Invite.
Sprints
The 100m saw
Emily Chaine finish off the Top-10 with a time of 13.27, while
Catarina Acosta clocked in at 14.29 for 22nd. With hurdles placed at that distance
Lily Cusa grabbed ninth after hitting the line in 17.71.
A pair of Devils took part in the 200m as the duo of
Maddie Brown and Chaine each set personal best times of 26.82 (2nd) and 27.19 (7th).
Maddie Brown seized the first win for the Red and White when she got to the line at 59.15 during the 400m.
Lily Swain was then on the course for the 400m hurdles taking fourth with a 1:09.58.
Distance
The 800m was where the Red and White picked up their second victory as
Marley Kurey took the top spot at 2:24.12. She was joined in the Top-10 by
Sophia Kovalski in ninth (2:29.59). The duo of
Devon Culberson and
Lauren Scott ran together landing in 22nd (2:40.32) and 23rd (2:42.12) respectively.
Dickinson would send a large contingent of athletes to the track for the 1500m with Kovalski leading the group in ninth (5:07.73), followed by Culberson (13th - 5:13.12), Scott (18th - 5:23.76),
Rebecca Roberts (30th - 5:50.38),
Ellie Drescher (32nd - 5:58.41).
Relays
The Red and White put two teams in the field for the 4x400m with one unit grabbing second at 4:06.46, while the other group hit the line in 4:51.64 (13th).
Field
At the throwing area,
Sarah Glickson competed in the javelin nabbing 14th with a toss of 20.71m.
Jenna Deep was the lone member of the Red and White to give it a go in the shot put claiming seventh with a mark of 10.37m.
Swain just missed winning the pole vault as her clearance of 3.04m was good for second, while
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh eclipsed 2.59 for sixth.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Thursday for the start of the Messiah University Multi and Invite beginning at 2pm in Grantham.
