Messiah Invite
GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Dickinson women's outdoor track and field team collected multiple Top-10 results and nabbed a pair of wins to claim third on Saturday afternoon at the Messiah University Invite taking place on the Starry Outdoor Track.
Sprints
The 100m saw
Catarina Acosta cross in 14.39 for 21st. With hurdles placed at the same distance
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh finished at 23.82 to grab sixth.
In the 200m,
Erin Olsavsky grabbed a second place finish by hitting the line in 25.60.
A trio of Devils took part in the 400m wtih
Maddie Brown and
Marley Kurey taking up first (58.85) and second (59.12) respectively, while
Emily Chaine crossed at 62.55 to land in sixth.
Distance
The 800m was where
Sophia Kovalski finished off the Top-5 with a time of 2:26.95, followed by
Lauren Scott (18th - 2:38.62),
Devon Culberson (19th - 2:40.18) and
Ellie Drescher (25th - 2:48.43).
Kovalski returned to the track for the 1500m and claimed a Top-10 mark by hitting the stripe in 5:09.82 to seize ninth. The duo of Culberson and Scott grabbed Top-20 results taking 16th (5:25.29) and 17th (5:26.30). Roberts (24th - 5:46.67) and Drescher (30th - 5:55.50).
Dickinson sent five athletes out to compete in the 10,000m with
Myra Naqvi finishing off the Top-3 with a time of 38:06.32. The trio of
Maddie Garber,
Breanna Franchak and
Abby Duffy earned Top-10 places nabbing sixth (39:44.33), seventh (40:48.30) and tenth (42:53.61).
Jenna Kerns just missed the Top-10 hitting the line in 43:17.21 for 11th.Â
Relays
The 4x400m unit of
Emma Dice, Kovalski, Kurey and Scott grabbed second by crossing the line at 4:32.70.
Field
At the jump pit,
Annie Leder was victorious in the long jump posting a mark of 5.52m.
In the throws,
Jenna Deep collected 22nd for the discus following a throw of 27.70m. Deep was then joined for the hammer throw by
Damien Labrada. The Devil duo would land in fourth (40.29m) and seventh (39.27m) respectively. Also involved in the hammer was
Sarah Glickson in 26th (30.40m) and Acosta in 31st (26.96m). The trio of Deep, Labrada and Glickson competed in the shot put as well taking up 10th (10.26m), 11th (10.24m) and 41st (8.05m).
Team Scores
Division I's Mount St. Mary's took the team crown with 148 points, followed in the Top-10 by Messiah (116), Dickinson (72), Lebanon Valley (70), Frostburg State (67), Elizabethtown (55), Gettysburg (53), Pitt-Johnstown (41), Juniata (21) and York (Pa.) (20).
Bucknell Outdoor Classic
LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's outdoor track and field team also sent a select group to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium for battle in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.
The Red and White primarily sent distance runners to the meet with
Elizabeth Barbash grabbing fifth for the 1500m with a time of 4:42.28.
Amiyah Priebe was the lone Devil to compete during the 3000m steeplechase taking 16th after hitting the line in 11:03.77.Â
Next on the Track
The Red Devils will venture down to Shippensuburg University on Wednesday afternoon to take part in the Ship Mid-Week Invite beginning at 3pm.
