SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Dickinson College women's track and field team continued a solid indoor season on Saturday afternoon by collecting multiple Top-10 finishes at the SU Invite hosted by Susquehanna University.
Sprints
Erin Olsavsky nabbed a Top-10 slot for the 60m as her time of 8.07 was good for eighth. The duo of
Emily Chaine and
Maddie Kyle occupied 25th (8.53) and 30th (8.57). When hurdles were thrown in front of the athletes at the same distance
Annie Leder and
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh seized Top-20 spots nabbing 15th (10.28) and 20th (10.66) respectively.
Olsavsky completed the podium in the 200m with a time of 26.26, while
Abbe Kitchin joined her in the Top-10 by hitting the line in 27.30 (10th). The trio of Chaine (15th - 27.75), Kyle (28th - 28.51) and
Emma Dice (52nd - 30.25) all took part in the race as well.
Kitchin just missed the podium during the 400m stopping the clock in 1:01.60 for fourth, followed by Dice in 22nd thanks to a 1:08.14.
Distance
Dickinson put two athletes on the podium for the 800m with
Amiyah Priebe winning the event at 2:21.89, while
Marley Kurey collected third (2:22.66).
Elizabeth Barbash joined the pair in the Top-10 with a seventh-place result by hitting the stripe at 2:28.23.
Breanna Franchak and
Devon Culberson crossed at 2:36.66 (26th) and 2:40.77 (32nd).
Barbash locked up third-place in the mile run thanks to a 5:18.68, followed by Franchak in eighth (5:36.89) and Culberson landing in 11th (5:48.18).
Sophia Kovalski secured another Top-10 result for the Red and White during the 3000m earning eighth with an 11:20.27, followed by
Lauren Scott in 16th at 11:59.46.
Meghan Higgins-Haas was the lone DC athlete to take part in the 5000m grabbing seventh by clocking in at 19:54.29.
Relays
Dickinson had a strong showing in the 4x400m as the unit of
Lily Swain, Chaine, Kitchin, and Kurey hit the line in 4:13.15 for second.
Field
The shot put saw three Devils take part in the event with
Damien Labrada grabbing seventh with a toss of 10.87m, followed by
Jenna Deep in 17th (9.93m) and
Sarah Glickson at 7.61m good for 38th. The same group went to work for the weight throw with Deep just missing the podium in fourth (14.27m), while Labrada and Glickson nabbed 16th (12.41m) and 24th (10.96m) respectively.
A duo went to work during the pole vault with Swain and McMaken-Marsh claiming second (3.05m) and ninth (2.75m).
At the jump pit, Leder competed in the triple jump earning a fourth-place finish with a leap of 10.93m.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Friday when they head right back to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to compete in the Susquehanna University Tune-Up starting at 12:30pm.
