CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's lacrosse team got a goal from senior
Delaney Herbert with one second left in the first-half to take a 7-2 halftime lead, but needed a tally from sophomore
Jillian McNulty in the final minute of the game to hold off the visiting Ohio Wesleyan University 9-8 at Biddle Field on Friday afternoon.
- Each keeper needed to tally a save in the opening five minutes of the game as Peyton VanDorpe shutdown Brie Colangelo, while Abby Markowitz denied Marnie Todd.

- OWU would then respond with solo markers for Caroline Fleming and Tiffany Trinh to draw level at 2-2 with 6:07 remaining.
- After another save for both goalies Carson Cerow finished off a nice dish from Nowland to give the home side a 3-2 edge with one in the books.
- Just 30-seconds in the Bishops had a chance to take the lead, but Trinh had her free-position chance denied by VanDorpe.
- Then, following another VanDorpe stop against Fleming, Sage Whiteside corralled the loose ball and got it ahead to Crawford Fisher who solved Markowitz to push it out to 4-2 with 2:36 gone.
- The teams shared the ensuing four shots with neither side putting one away, which allowed Eva Gardner to knock the rock free from Ximena Prieto resulting in Faith Parker putting the ball in the net for a 5-2 advantage.
- Dickinson would not be down for the period however as Grace Kelly setup Nowland for the Devils sixth, before Fisher found Herbert at the horn taking the lead to 7-2 at halftime.
- Five of the first seven shots of the frame belonged to the Battling Bishops with VanDorpe making a save against Casey Conklin, but being bested by Sam Frary and Isabel Milner to cut the gap to 7-4 with six minutes gone.
- Two minutes later the Red and White made it 8-4 when Broome separated Prieto from the ball leading Herbert to scoop it up and finish it off.
- However, the duo of Colangelo and Frary brought OWU to within 8-6 at the 10:12 mark.
- Dickinson had the final shot of the quarter, unfortunately, Parker was shutdown by Markowitz.
- With 66 ticks off the clock the visitors got the margin to just one at 8-7 thanks to Fleming.
- A pair of Markowitz saves on Nowland and Whiteside kept the margin at one allowed for Amara Carlson to tie the game up at 8-8 with 9:26 to play.
- Four of the ensuing five shots went the way of the Devils as Caroline Cavendish hit the post, while Kelly and Whiteside were denied by Markowitz as the game entered the final four minutes.
- VanDorpe would ultimately give the Devils the opportunity to find an eventual winner as she stoned both Conklin and Wolverton.
