CARLISLE, Pa. - Senior attacker
Delaney Herbert recorded five points to become the third-leading scorer in Dickinson history by recording her 200th-point on Wednesday night as the Dickinson women's lacrosse team closed out the 2025 season at Biddle Field against Muhlenberg College. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the visiting Mules spoiled the evening by posting a 14-7 Centennial Conference victory.
 Â
- After Jillian Kubikowski missed wide at the 1:14 mark, the home side tallied the next three chances with Grace Kelly stuffing one past Ellison Ervin for a 1-0 lead.
- Dickinson immediately tried to make it 2-0 off the ensuing draw control, but the pass from Ali Broome to Sage Whiteside for the shot was stopped by Ervin.
- Muhlenberg then found their defensive footing by not allowing another DC attempt over the next four minutes, while beating Devils keeper Peyton VanDorpe three times (3-1).
- Herbert fired two shots during the rest of the period. However, neither one bothered Ervin as the horn sounded.
- Dickinson cut the margin to 3-2 not even two minutes in as Bella Guckes rang the crossbar and Kelly sent a shot wide, before Eva Gardner connected with Kelly for a finish.
- Two minutes after that the Devils made it 3-3 when a save by VanDorpe on Ava Milia resulted in the home side going back down the field where Kelly linked up with Herbert.
- With 8:05 off the clock, VanDorpe shutdown Alyssa Hartnett sending Kelly back the other way where she once again found Herbert to grab a 4-3 edge.
- After each keeper notched one more stop, Hartnett and Kubikowski each found the cage for the Mules to jump back ahead 5-4 at the break.
- An early turnover caused by Liv Rizzi resulted in shots for Faith Parker and Whiteside one of which hit the post and the other was stopped by Ervin.
- Unfortunately, for the Devils, Muhlenberg would use those breaks to ride the momentum to two more markers thanks to Emily Vaughan and Hartnett (7-4) with 11:57 left.
- Dickinson then tried to right the ship with offerings from Meghan McDonald, Guckes and Whiteside tasking Ervin with making two more stops, before Herbert struck again at the 5:36 mark.
- The visitors put a halt to any DC comeback effort right away as Hartnett and Kubikowski combined for three consecutive goals to stretch the lead back out to 10-5.
- Following two more VanDorpe saves led to Herbert bagging her fourth of the evening (10-6). Unfortunately, Emma Youngling beat the clock to make it 11-6 going to the fourth.
- Just prior to three minutes coming off the clock Youngling converted on a free-position chance pushing the margin to six (12-6).Â
- The Red and White recorded the next three shots with Jenna Nowland and McDonald missing the target, while Parker was denied by Ervin.Â
- After the Mules extended the lead to 13-6 through Lauren Moylan, Guckes, Nowland and Parker tried to solve Ervin, but were not able to convert.Â
- Herbert's big moment came with 13:44 gone when she found a cutting Guckes for the finish to cut it down to 13-7. However, with 24-seconds remaining Kim Curcio capped the scoring for the 14-7 final.
