WINCHESTER, Va. - The Dickinson field hockey team held their own for the first 45 minutes on Wednesday night against the 19th-ranked Shenandoah University. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the Hornets struck three times over the final 15 minutes to secure a 3-0 non-conference win at Aikens Stadium.
- It would take over seven minutes to see the first shots of the match as off a penalty corner inserted by Nicole Uebele, the duo of Maggie Carson (2) and Malena Malka Goldman forced SU keeper Taylor Swann to make three saves.
- The next two shots went to the hosts with Taylor Morrow having to shutdown Elizabeth Ranberger with ten minutes off the clock.
- Each keeper would have to make at least one more save in the period with Morrow denying both Kaitlyn Nakamura and Farren Winter, while Swann turned away Carson.
- The second frame was all about Morrow as she notched four saves on the six Hornet shots that came her way.Â
- Dickinson was stymied by the Hornets defense as they were not able to record a shot during the period.
- The first five minutes were spent in the DC end with Morrow beating aside offerings from Mairead McKibbin and Ranberger.
- The Red and White finally worked their way back into the attacking end and started asking questions of Swann as she stopped both Sophia Pereira and Uebele to keep things scoreless into the fourth.
- Dickinson had the Hornets under duress early as Pereira let a shot go towards cage that beat Swann, but was unfortunately cleared off the line by Mallory Holup just 70 seconds in.Â
- A minute later Uebele played in a corner that ultimately saw the ball come back to her for a shot which was saved again by Swann.Â
- The final seven chances of the game went to the home side with three finding the back of the cage, while Morrow added three more stops to set the 3-0 final.
- Shots - Carson (3), Pereira and Uebele (2)
- Saves - Morrow (12)
- Goals - Morrison (2), Winter (1)
- Shots - Winter (5), Ranberger (4)

- The Devils (2-4) head to Center Valley, Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon for another non-conference matchup as the Red and White will take on the Bulldogs of DeSales University at high noon.
