CARLISLE, Pa. – For the second consecutive season the second-seeded Dickinson baseball team will begin another postseason excursion on Thursday afternoon when they host the third-seeded McDaniel College at MacPhail Field beginning at 3pm.
Tournament Overview
After single games on Thursday at top-seeded Johns Hopkins and second-seed Dickinson the tournament will make its way down to Baltimore, Maryland for the remaining two days of the double-elimination action on Saturday and Sunday. With a win on Thursday the Devils would play the winner of Johns Hopkins and Haverford on Saturday at around 1:30pm, while a DC loss to the Green Terror would see them take the field at 10am against the loser of the Blue Jays and Fords.Â

The Devils Den
Dickinson enters the tournament as the number two seed with a mark of 26-10 overall to go along with a fantastic 13-5 record within Centennial Conference action. This season the Red and White have wins over then #10 (now #8) Johns Hopkins as well as typical strong regionally-ranked foes in Messiah and York, in addition to a one-run loss at then #3 Shenandoah which only helps adds intrigue to the Devils postseason run as a possible at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament could be within their grasp if they do not claim the CC title.
Offense
Veteran Leadership
Kenny Tagliareni continues to be the catalyst at the top of the Devils order ending the regular season with a .315 batting average thanks to 40 hits a dozen of them of the extra-base variety in addition to picking up 30 walks, 26 RBIs and 14 hit by pitches.
Ryan Thompson is the leading average for DC hitting at a whopping .402 clip with 45 hits, 36 RBIs and drawing 33 walks.
Kaden Sigmon and
Matt Torres both boast averages over .300 at .369 and .349 respectively and have combined for 92 hits, 79 runs scored, 78 RBS, 22 doubles and five home runs.

Christian Kim and
Chase Weller among other will all look to contribute when their time is called upon during this postseason charge.
Youth Movement
Sophomores
Josh Markley and
Dylan Posencheg have been key cogs to the Dickinson offensive attack with both men holding batting averages about the .300 plateau at .337 and .349. Markley has picked up 28 hits with eight extra-base knocks to go along with 26 runs scored and 20 runs batted in, while working 20 walks. Posencheg has been quite strong as well notching 37 hits, 21 walks and 16 RBIs in addition to making some outstanding plays out in center field. First-year
Luke Gartland has started in 34 of his 35 games played ending the regular season with a .336 average thanks to 36 hits and 26 driven in. The sophomore trio of

The Ace
The Devils have been led on the hill by
Koll Peichel who holds a 6-1 record with a 3.86 ERA over 60.2 innings pitched holding opponents to a .265 average with a team-high 67 strikeouts which ranks him second in the conference.
Joey the Magnificent
Reliever
Joey Sangiuolo had another outstanding season making 18 appearances out of the pen holding a 2.79 ERA, while tossing the second most innings on the team at 42.0 striking out 40 and issuing a dozen free passes.
Riley the Resilient
After missing the 2023 campaign due to injury
Brian Riley has posted a 3-0 record in 15 relief appearances holding a 3.70 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 24.1 frames.
Young Arms
Sophomore
Austin Buzza along with first-year
Ben Myers have combined to make 16 starts posting a 5-6 record with 77 strikeouts and just 16 walks between the two during their 72.1 innings.
The Depth
The trio of

Nathan Weisoly have all thrown double-digit innings on the year and have totaled ten starts between the group.
The Rest of the Field
No. 1 Seed - Johns Hopkins Blue Jays
The top-seed in the tournament comes into play on Thursday ranked number eight in the nation with a record of 29-9 overall and 16-2Â in the conference. Offensively, Alex Shane possesses the best average of the players that see the most time on the field hitting .355 with a team-high 49 hits and 34 RBIs. Shawn Steuerer has added 43 hits and 38 RBIs on a .347 average, while Dylan Whitney sits at .323 thanks to 13 extra-base hits (42 in total). Caleb Cyr (.317) and Dillon Souvignier (.321) complete the group of .300-plus hitters, in addition Cyr paces the Jays in homers with 12 and Souvignier has a team-high 12 doubles. Quinn Rovner and Kieren Collins have been strong on the hill for the Jays posting a combined record of 10-1 with both pitchers holding ERA's in the low three's at 3.09 and 3.33 respectively to go along with 76 strikeouts over a total of 95 innings. William Boneno will look to lockdown the games with a team leading four saves, while BBearden Awadzi, Nicolas Jos and Tyler Sugrim each have one.. Bob Babb is at the head of the Blue Jays nest for the 45th season.Â

Blue Jays vs Devils in 2024 – The Red and White shared the spoils with the then tenth-ranked Blue Jays in Carlisle earlier this month as the Devils took game one 5-4, before the Jays claimed a 4-1 win in the back-half.
No. 3 Seed – McDaniel College Green Terror
McDaniel enters their third game against the Devils this season on Thursday with a mark of 22-13 overall and 13-5 within the Centennial. Ethan Haddock is the bat that the three teams will have to slow down as he enters the tournament hitting .441 with 60 hits, 27 RBIs and ten doubles. The trio of Ben Davis, Joey Hubinger and Shea McKenna might also be a tall task as they all are hitting over .350 combining for 138 hits, 113 RBIs, 104 runs scored, 31 doubles and 15 home runs. The duo of Ryan Martino and Tyson Nercessian have been brilliant for the Terror posting a record of 7-0 with ERAs inside of 3.00 at 1.83 and 2.83. They also joined up for 81 strikeouts but have walked 35 over 79.1 innings. Conor Henderson has racked up six saves in addition to holding a 2-0 record. Jim Carone is in his third season at the helm of the Green Terror program.Â
Green Terror vs Devils in 2024 – The two teams split two games during the season with each winning on their own field. McDaniel knocked off the Devils 11-6 in Westminster, before two days later Dickinson secured a 6-4 victory in Carlisle.
No. 5 Seed - Haverford College Fords
Haverford arrives at the double-elimination portion of the tournament with a record of 22-19 (11-7 Centennial) and have already gotten a taste of postseason baseball with a 3-2 win over Franklin & Marshall in the four vs. five play-in game on Tuesday. The Fords offense is also led by two players hitting .300 or better with Harry Genth pacing the unit with a .356 thanks to 42 runs scored, 37 hits, 25 RBIs and ten homers. Chuck Norton holds a .309 average to go along with 38 hits and 20 RBIs. Jack Wallis is the Fords RBI leader with 42 on a .241 average, while Matt Dahl has added 21 RBIs on 28 hits. Matt Rabayda has made ten starts possessing a record of 7-2 with a 3.79 ERA averaging 11.22 strikeouts per nine innings over his 59.1 innings. The group of Riley Grohowski, Colin Lewis and Wyatt Mattison have a combined record 10-6 with 83 strikeouts giving up 13 home runs. Drew Doyle has a team-high four saves for the Fords, while Aidan O'Sullivan, Luke Treese and Mattison each added one save. Dave Beccaria is at the head of the Fords program for the 24th season.
Fords vs Devils in 2023Â - The Red and White and Fords split a doubleheader in Haverford back in early April with the Fords claiming the first 9-4, before Dickinson responded with an 8-6 win.
