- Dickinson starter Grayson Walker allowed a pair of base runners during the top-half, but was able to work around the issue.
- Things started well in the home-half of the frame as Ryan Thompson reached on an error and Josh Markley singled to left-center putting men on the corners against Quinn Rovner. After Markley was caught trying to steal second, Kevin Schmidt came up with a sacrifice fly to center tying the game.
- The visitors then responded by taking the lead as a free pass to Dillon Souvignier and a DC error led to two men on. Walker then settled down to get a pair of flyouts, before Jake Siani ripped a two-run triple to deep right-center.
- Dickinson tried to answer back with a leadoff single by Kaden Sigmon and walk to Will Ferris put two on with two away. Unfortunately, Nathan Bowman flew out to left retiring the side.
- Two singles between Shawn Steuerer and Caleb Cyr made it 3-1 with one gone. Souvignier then stepped into the box and sent a pitch up in the air to right which appeared to be a routine fly ball. However, it just kept on carrying to the wall and out of the park extending the gap to 5-1. Walker then recorded a strikeout and flyout to center ending the half.Â
- A one-out free pass worked by Markley gave DC a runner, but a pickoff and grounder closed out the inning.Â
- After a scoreless top of the frame, a fielder's choice by Sigmon and two-bagger from Luke Gartland had a pair in scoring position for Kyle Bailey. He would work a walk to fill the pillows, before Bowman smashed a two-run single into left cutting the margin to 5-3 with four in the books.
- Two singles and a walk loaded the cushions with no outs for the visitors. A groundout by Dylan Whitney scored one and a Siani sac fly stretch the gap to 7-3. Walker capped off the frame by getting Jacob Harris to swing through strike three.
- Will Boneno entered the game from the bullpen in the home-half and used two groundouts along with a flyout to right to provide a shutdown inning.
- Dickinson went to their own pen for the top of the frame as Evan Connery entered the game and setdown the Jays in order "one-two-three".
- Boneno began the inning strong by getting Sigmon to flyout and Gartland to strikeout for two quick outs. A single by Bailey and walk worked by Ferris, set the stage for Bowman to smoke one into left plating one. Thompson followed with an RBI knock to left cutting it down to 7-5. After Markley was hit by a pitch, Jefferson took over on the hill for Boneno and immediately gave up a bases-clearing two-bagger out to left-center giving the Red and White the slim 8-7 edge.Â
- A walk, single and passed ball had a pair in scoring position with one down for Whitney who produced an RBI single. Siani then reached on a fielder's choice that scored one, before Harris ripped a two-bagger out to right giving JHU an 11-8 edge. That ended the day for Connery as Dylan Robinson took over. Unfortunately, for Dickinson he allowed a two-run shot to Alex Shane and a solo bomb for Steuerer to open it up to 14-8. A single and double put two more on for Stevens who blasted the Jays third homer of the frame. Zach Wernick then entered the contest and gave up a single and free pass, prior to the second DC miscue leading to the final run of the inning coming home (18-8).
- Nicholas Jos took over in the bottom-half trying to end the game and after allowing a single to Gartland. He got Ryan O'Connor to bounce into a double-play and Christian Kim grounded out.
