NEWVILLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's cross country returned to the Big Spring High School Cross Country Course on Saturday afternoon for the Centennial Conference Championship. Using a strong team effort the Red and White were able to seize third-place giving them some much needed momentum heading into next weekend's NCAA Mid-East Regional.
Brock Overlander was the top finishing Devil earning tenth thanks to a 25:56.4 on the eight-kilometer course. The next three members of the Red and White to cross the line took up 15th thru 17th with
Alexander Kane (26:16.8),
Luke Knestout (26:18.6) and
Nathan Caldwell (26:21.8) occupying those places.
Nolan Meincke was in the first spot outside of the Top-20 with a 26:30.1, followed two slots back by
Mason Macek (26:31.8).
Matthew Dietrick also joined the group inside the Top-30 thanks to a time of 26:40.7 for 27th.
William Kane was next in 34th at 26:59.0, while
Alex Hansen secured 55th (27:41.9).
Edward Liszka (28:19.9),
Atticus Fair (28:46.5),
Jake Cruikshank (29:26.2),
Joel Yetzbacher (29:39.0),
Matthew Colden (30:30.4) and
Son Nguyen (31:57.6) all competed in the race as well.
Emmanuel Leblond from Johns Hopkins claimed the individual title with a 24:41.8. He and the rest of his Blue Jay teammates secured the team crown with 19 points. The rest of the team standings were made up of Haverford (66), RED DEVILS (70), Swarthmore (94), Ursinus (165), McDaniel (188), Gettysburg (208), Franklin & Marshall (211) and Muhlenberg (251).
On The Docket
The Red and White will now head to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania next Saturday morning for the NCAA Mid-East Regional hosted by Lock Haven University on the West Branch Cross Country Course. The action begins at 12pm.
