Devil Men Claim Eighth in CC Champs Tune Up

GENESEO, N.Y. - The Dickinson men's cross country team took part in the final meet before the Centennial Conference Championship in two weeks by competing in the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by SUNY Geneseo at the National Warplane Museum on Saturday afternoon.

In a field of nearly 500 runners on the eight-kilometer course Brock Overlander landed in 29th at 25:11.6, while Alexander Kane finished two spots behind him thanks to a 25:13.5. Luke Knestout was the next member of the Red and White to cross the line in 69th (25:40.8), followed by Nathan Caldwell in 74th (25:45.4) and Matthew Dietrick at 25:47.4 for 76th. Mason Macek was the final Devils to finish within the lead 100 as he clocked in at 25:55.5 (82nd). The group of Nolan Meincke, Nolan Meincke, Romario Cruz, William Kane, Alex Hansen and Atticus Fair all landed inside the Top-200 with marks of 26:13.7 (108th), 26:25.2 (123rd), 26:26.7 (125th), 26:39.8 (148th) and 26:54.2 (174th). Edward Liszka (27:53.0), Joel Yetzbacher (28:53.1), Jake Cruikshank (29:16.4), Max Collins (30:00.9), Jack Solovey (30:54.4) and Tyler Erdman (31:45.0) all competed in the race as well.

Vince Simonetti from RPI won the individual crown with a time of 24:08.1, while the host SUNY Geneseo nabbed the team win thanks to just 41 points. The rest of the Top-10 in the 33 team field had RPI (54), Carnegie Mellon (80), John Carroll (115), Moravian (209), Mount Union (236), Brockport State (244), RED DEVILS (247), Case Western (260) and Lebanon Valley (276).

Next on the Docket
The Red and White return to action in two weeks when Dickinson hosts the Centennial Conference Championship at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania. The action begins at high noon on Saturday, November 2nd.
