LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson field hockey team got a pair of goals from
Nicole Uebele, but it was not enough on the day as the host Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats used a four-goal second quarter to help them pick up a 6-2 Centennial Conference win at Tylus Field.
- Dickinson had the early pressure with both Erin Liggio and Nicole Uebele tasking F&M keeper Meghan Dole into making a pair of stops within the opening minute.
- The next chance did not come until the 9:14 mark when Taylor Morrow denied Caitlin Hoover, before off a corner Dole had the answer for Natalie Slusser.
- F&M tallied the final four shots of the frame with one of them going in thanks to Hannah Fitzgerald to take a 1-0 lead into the second.
- Dickinson tried for an early equalizer as two penalty corners resulted in a pair of Becca Woods shots, but they were both blocked down by the defense.
- The Diplomats would then score twice in a four-minute span to push the edge to 3-0, before Uebele cashed in for the Red and White.
- However, F&M collected two more markers in the period from Hoover in the 27th and Caroline Krisko 30-seconds from halftime to extend their advantage to 5-1 at the break.
- The Diplomats provided the first attack of the frame as they earned two penalty corners and recorded one shot from Jessica Miller which forced a stop by Morrow.
- Dickinson notched their only chance of the period with just over five minutes off the clock when Uebele played a corner to Woods who had another shot knocked down as the game moved to the fourth.
- Jorja Pastore took over between the pipes for Dole to start things off and she was put under immediate pressure as DC worked into the circle and had a pass from Megan McClure find Uebele for the finish.
- The keepers then took over for a few minutes with Pastore stopping Uebele twice, while Morrow shutdown Hoover and Brianna Coolican.
- F&M claimed the final goal of the game with just under five minutes left when a foul in the circle resulted in a penalty stroke for the Diplomats. Bella Konchar stepped up and beat Morrow for the 6-2 result.
