Tigers Bite Past Devils to End Colorado Trip

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Dickinson women's volleyball team concluded their Fall Pause trip to Colorado on Saturday evening by dropping a 3-0 non-conference decision to the host Colorado College Tigers inside the El Pomar Sports Center.

Template - 1st Set
  • The home side jumped out to an early 10-3 lead with Mallie Thomas providing the only kills for the Red and White.
  • Two scores for Amelia Kim and a solo by Jessica Currie tried to keep Dickinson afloat, but Steph Brown and Camille Sherill stretched the advantage out to 17-9.
  • Annie Joo and Delaney Rach answered with five straight to make it 22-9.
  • Emery Fishbach and Kim kept the Devils fighting hard, but Rach recorded the final kill of the set (25-13).

  • A kill each for Kim and Thomas gave DC a slim 3-1 edge to start.
  • The Tigers then embarked on a 14-2 outburst with Caroly Dormady, Kaylie Stuteville and Sherill picking up the points to open up a 17-5 advantage.
  • Four of the next five went to the Red and White thanks to an ace for Avery Butcher and three CC errors (18-9). 
  • Alexa Barowski and Kim each added a kill for keep DC alive, before a kill for Brown closed things out at 25-12.
Template - 3rd Set
  • Things were tight to start as two Currie kills kept DC down just one at 4-3.
  • Brooke Brilliant, Brown, Dormady and Stuteville then responded for the hosts to extend the gap to 13-7. 
  • A pair of Kim kills and a point by Lillian Bigsby pulled the Devils to within 15-11.
  • After Brown and Rach helped the Tigers to rip off seven consecutive points (22-11), Camille Dofiles, Barowski and Currie cut it down to 22-13.
  • Unfortunately, for the Red and White Sherill and Stuteville both put away kills to end the match at 25-14.
