LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson volleyball team had three players recognized by the Centennial Conference on Tuesday afternoon as All-Conference performers with
Avery Butcher and
Amelia Kim earning Second Team, while
Lillian Bigsby was selected to the All-Sportsmanship TeamĀ
Second Team
Butcher, the first-year libero out of Wexford, Pennsylvania, had a big rookie campaign for the Red and White appearing in 26 matches leading the team in digs with 386 averaging 4.29 per set. She also chipped in 35 aces which was good for second on the squad, while collecting 81 assists as well. For the season, Butcher had 21 matches where she recorded double-digit digs, including five with 20-plus posting a season-high 32 in the season-opener against Southern Virginia on August 30th. She also ended the year on quite a tear racking up 88 digs over the final five matches of the year. On the service line, Butcher recorded multiple aces in eight games firing a season-high seven also versus Southern Virgina (8/30).
Kim, the junior from Vienna, Virginia, made an appearance in 26 matches, making 24 starts racking up a team-high 278 kills averaging 3.23 per set. She also added 155 digs, 24 blocks and nine aces getting it done on both ends of the court. She ended the season with a dozen matches of double-digit kills to go along with five matches of ten-plus kills and ten-plus digs. Kim had a three-match run against Lebanon Valley, Eastern Mennonite and York (Pa.) where she notched 14 kills in each match, while combining for 21 digs, four blocks and an ace. She ended the year by picking up 20-plus kills in her final two matches versus Johns Hopkins and Muhlenberg.Ā
All-Sportsmanship
Bigsby, the junior out of Raleigh, North Carolina, played in eight matches, recording three starts for the Devils picking up 11 kills on a .286 hitting percentage, while on the defensive side she notched nine blocks. One of her best outputs of the season came against Southern Virginia when she tallied three kills and four blocks.Ā On October 12th, versus Pitt-GreensburgĀ she racked up three kills and a block.
