HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Dickinson men's tennis team righted the ship on Monday afternoon knocking off Concordia University from Wisconsin by a 7-2 scoreline on day two of their South Carolina trip at Hilton Head High School.
Doubles (Devils 2-1)
The third pair of
Florian Anderson and
DJ Finnell had no problem taking care of Nathan Bilan and Jordan Wright winning 8-1. Then in the second slot
Thomas Griffin and
Levi Veleanu was too much for Isaac Bruins and Dylan Nadolski claiming an 8-4 victory. The top unit of
Garrick Adams and
Will Lewis could not overcome Joshua Klement and Landon Sather dropping an 8-3 decision.Â
Singles (Devils 5-1)
Anderson surrendered the fewest games of any Devil in the singles ladder letting Wright win just three games en route to a 6-1, 6-2 triumph. Then, at the four line Lewis allowed Bruins to take five games off him before claiming a 6-4, 6-1 win, while Veleanu gave up two games more at the number three spot but was able to down Nadolski 6-3, 6-4. Finnell went the distance in the fifth slot to knockoff Bilan 6-1, 3-6, 10-1. Griffin also won at number two taking the first set in a tiebreaker 7-4, prior to wrapping up the match in the second at 6-3. The Devils were prevented from sweeping singles when Sather beat Adams 1-6, 6-7 (3-7).

Dickinson (2-2) will look to get back to their winning ways tomorrow afternoon at 5pm when they battle Lake Forest College at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Club.
