CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team faced a brutal challenge on Saturday afternoon as the 12th-ranked Swarthmore College came calling to the Hays Tennis Courts for a Centennial Conference showdown on Senior Day. Unfortunately, for the Red and White it was the Garnet picked up the 7-0 win.
Doubles (Garnet 3-0)
The third pair of
Florian Anderson and
Ryan Whiting were able to take one game off of their opposition, while the second team with
Drew Allen and
Aidan MacIntosh were able to improve on that number falling by a margin of 2-6. Then, the top duo of
Lucas Bogle and
Eddy Chow pushed hard, but ultimately fell 3-6 to Andres Fente and Kai Chen.
Singles (Garnet 6-0)
Swarthmore made it 2-0 when Aamish Pal took down Anderson 0-6, 3-6 at the four line. Then, a spot above, Chow claimed one game from Fente in a 0-6, 1-6 setback. The Garnet secured the match in second slot where Chen got the best of Allen 4-6, 0-6. Bogle playing at number one struggled in the first set falling 0-6, before dropping the second 3-6 to Rishi Verma. The fifth and sixth flights saw the matches play a "superset" as MacIntosh and Whiting suffered defeats of 1-8 and 0-8 respectively.

Dickinson (3-11, 0-5 Centennial) is back at the Hays Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon at 4pm when they entertain the 38th-ranked Franklin and Marshall College in conference play.
