(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team dropped a 6-0 decision to visiting Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday afternoon.
The Diplomats jumped in front 3-0 after doubles. Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) and Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) played a hard fought match at the number one spot, falling 8-6.
Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Cranbury Township) and Peter Schmidt (Morris Plains, N.J./Laurel Springs) posted the same result in the second flight.
Diniz and Chen both had strong starts in singles, dropping their opening sets in 7-6 tie-breakers.
The final three matches were unfinished for the final result of 6-0.
F&M improves to 8-5 overall and 5-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 7-6 and 1-4 on the year. Dickinson is home again on Saturday, hosting Washington College at 1:00 pm.
