#4-Blue Jays Sweep Devils to Remain Unbeaten in CC

(Carlisle, Pa.) - The #4-ranked Johns Hopkins University baseball team matched it's run total from Tuesday, posting a 16-2 win over Dickinson on Friday afternoon.

The Blue Jays capitalized on seven Red Devil errors to score nine unearned runs on the day. They sweep the series improve to 21-3 overall and remain unbeaten in the Centennial Conference with a 9-0 mark.

Sophomore right-hander Alex Eliopoulos held the Devils scoreless through six innings, recording seven strikeouts. He allowed a pair of runs in the seventh, but earned the win to improve to 4-0 on the year.

The Devils broke through in the bottom of the seventh on a two-RBI double from sophomore Garrett Horan (Providence, R.I/Moses Brown), scoring Mike Shimkin (Solebury, Pa./Princeton Day) and Mike Schuster (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley).

The Blue Jays struck early with a pair of runs in the first inning, adding four unearned in the second. They were held, relatively in check from that point, before adding seven in the final two innings.

Sophomore pitcher Andrew Mauro (Washington, D.C./Mercersburg) turned in a valiant performance on the mound, allowing just six earned runs against the potent Hopkins offense.

Horan led the Devils at the plate, going 2-for-4 on the day.

The Red Devils slip to 6-17 overall and 3-7 in the conference. They travel to Haverford College for a 12:30 double-header on Saturday.
