COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team collected their second consecutive Centennial Conference win on Saturday evening by rolling past the host Ursinus College Bears by a score of 6-1 inside the Kinetix Tennis Center.
Doubles (DEVILSÂ 3-0)
Two of the matches ended with identical 6-2 scorelines as
Jenna Crain and
Natasha Sharnoff playing at one along with the second tandem of
Alisa Steele and
Loretta Szych took care of their opponents. In the three slot,
Izzy Desjardins and
Chloe Heller allowed Caroline Daly and Julia Nitz to grab one more game than their teammates, but still cruised to a 6-3 victory.Â
Singles (DEVILS 5-1)
The Red and White kicked off the singles portion of the match with a "W" thanks to Heller and her 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Kate Rubinkam at four. Dickinson made it 3-0 when Sharnoff downed Katie Yu, 6-1, 6-1 in the three slot. Crain at the first flight moved the Devils one point away from victory with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Allie Armour. Szych at five and Steele on the two line allowed their opponent each three games, but in different ways with Szych going 6-3, 6-0 while Steele posted a 6-2, 6-1 straight setter. The Bears lone win came at six where Morgan Coupe had too much for
Rory Hansen (6-2, 6-2).Â

Dickinson (8-3, 2-1 Centennial) returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they welcome local and conference rival Gettysburg College to the Hays Tennis Courts for a 4pm first serve.
