CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team got singles victories from
Jenna Crain and
Alisa Steele at the first and second slots, but it was not enough as the Red and White capped off their 2024-2025 home slate on Wednesday afternoon with a 5-2 loss to the visiting Franklin and Marshall College Diplomats in Centennial Conference action on the Hays Tennis Courts.
Doubles (Diplomats 2-1)
The doubles portion of the match began with the second pair of
Alisa Steele and
Loretta Szych being defeated by Sahara Ahmad and Natalie Untermeyer by a score of 0-6. Dickinson's victory occurred at the top spot as
Jenna Crain and
Natasha Sharnoff disposed of the Jenn Harrison-Mackenzie Sherman team 6-4. However, the Diplomats would claim the points thanks to Kathryn Colclough and Presley Daggett posting a 3-6 win in three slot over
Izzy Desjardins and
Chloe Heller.
Singles (Diplomats 4-2)
Singles opened up with Heller totaling three games against Sherman in a 2-6, 1-6 setback at four, while
Anabelle Armendarez also tallied three wins versus Rebecca Bellick as she was tripped up 1-6, 2-6. Szych pushed hard in the first set in the fifth flight falling 4-6, before dropping the second by a margin of 1-6. Dickinson's first win of the match came on the top line as Crain collected a straight set victory over Harrison (6-1, 6-2). Sharnoff gave everything she had versus Untermeyer at number three, but ultimately suffered a 5-7, 4-6 setback. Things ended on a positive though for Dickinson with Steele staving off a valiant push from Ahmad at the second spot picking up a two-set win (6-4, 7-5).

Dickinson (10-6, 3-4 Centennial) will close out the regular season on Thursday afternoon with a trip to Muhlenberg College in Allentown. First serve is scheduled for 4pm.
