Devils Slip Up in First Centennial Bout of 2025 to Shorewomen

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson women's tennis team battled all afternoon, but ultimately were tripped up in their Centennial Conference opener by the Shorewomen of Washington College by a final margin of 4-3 at the Hays Tennis Courts.

Inside The Match
It was a slow start for the Red and White, as they narrowly lost the doubles point. However, the combination of Alisa Steele and Loretta Szych were able to win the second doubles flight, after going the distance and winning the tiebreaker 7-2. In the singles, it was yet another strong showing from the Red Devils number one Jenna Crain. She was able to handle business in the top flight, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. First-year Natasha Sharnoff was able to grab the second Red Devils point in the third flight, holding her nerve to win 6-1, 1-6, 6-4. The third and final point of the afternoon came in the fourth flight, following a straight sets victory for first-year Chloe Heller 6-1, 6-3. It wasn't meant to be however for the Red Devils, as the second, fifth and sixth flights went the way of the Shorewomen to win the first Centennial Conference clash of the season.
