Trevor Richwine from the Dickinson men's indoor track and field program used stellar performances on Friday afternoon to earn their places in Saturday's finals at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Richwine, began the day by competing in the first preliminary heat of the 800m. He crossed the line with the third fastest time of the day clocking in at 1:51.88 to book his place in Saturday's action. Tor Hotung-Davidsen of the University of Lynchburg holds the number one slot (1:51.40). The final is scheduled for 4:50 pm tomorrow.
Akabi-During then stepped up to do battle in the prelims for the 200m. His time of 21.76 to not only set his own personal best time, but also rewrite the Dickinson record as well as tie for the Centennial Conference record. He will start in the eighth spot in tomorrow's 5:15 pm final and will be attempting to track down the top qualifier of the day in Sam Blaskowski from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
