HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Dickinson women's tennis team began their Spring Break schedule by downing the Falcons of Pfeiffer University by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday morning.

The only point dropped in the match was in the doubles, where the Falcons were able to clinch two of the three matches. Despite losing the point, the combination of sophomore Jenna Crain and first-year Natasha Sharnoff breezed past their opponents with a 6-0 win. In singles, the Red and White claimed every match, with the match between Anabelle Armendarez and Rhoades in the sixth slot being stopped after the overall match had been won. In the top flight Jenna Crain ended the day without losing a single game in both singles and doubles, taking care of business 6-0, 6-0. Alisa Steele was also clinical in her win of the second flight, dropping only three games to win 6-2, 6-1. Natasha Sharnoff claimed the three flight in straight sets, despite a close first set, winning 7-6, 6-4. The match was clinched by first-year Chloe Heller in the fourth flight, going all the way to a third set tie breaker, where she came through for the Red and White 10-8 in the third set decider. First-year Loretta Szych grabbed the fifth and final point for the Red Devils, winning the fifth flight in straight sets.

Dickinson (4-1) return to action tomorrow afternoon at 3pm, when they take on the Vikings of Berry College.
