ST. MARYS CITY, Md. - The Dickinson men's soccer team finished off a flawless weekend in Maryland on Sunday afternoon by downing the host St. Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks 3-0 on Day Two of the Seahawk Classic at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
Luke Beiles collected his second marker of the weekend, while
Nicholas Dwamena and
Timi Omoniwa also found the back of the net.
- After not being called upon to make a single save in yesterday's match Devils keeper Aidan George was called upon twice inside the first 25 minutes denying both Abdoul Anounkou and Xavier Lewis.
- At the other end of the field Alex Spiegel ripped a shot towards goal, but it was knocked away by Zack Reed.
- In the 30th minute Dwamena solved Reed for a 1-0 lead, before Omoniwa pushed the advantage to 2-0 on the Devils next shot at the 40:05 mark.
- The Seahawks recorded the opening three shots of the frame, with Franco Reyes forcing George to make a save in the 47th.
- Following chances for Roan Harrington and Jeremy Sallade that yielded no result, Reyes worked his way down to the other end of the field and let a shot fly at George that he batted away.
- Then, with 63:45 gone a DC corner kick saw the ball eventually make its way to Iwowo who slipped a pass to Beiles who deposited the shot into the net making it 3-0.
- Braden Kindred tried to ruin the cleansheet hopes for the Red and White with a pair of late shots, but one was stopped by new DC keeper Gavin Marr, while the other was swept off the line by the defense to hold on for the 3-0 win.
