KANSAS CITY - The Dickinson men's soccer team kept the awards rolling in on Friday morning as junior attacking duo
Saul Iwowo and
Ethan Jarden were tabbed as All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches organization. Iwowo was placed on Second Team, while Jarden claimed Third Team recognition.
Second Team
Iwowo, the native of London, United Kingdom, was named First Team All-Region as well as Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year label after pacing both the Red and White and the conference in goals (16) and points (41). Iwowo, who made 23 starts of 24 matches, bagged a conference-leading seven match-winning goals thanks to 71 shots (30 on target). Over the late part of the regular season as the Devils were jockeying for playoff position Iwowo netted four goals and added one helper over the final two regular season contests. Then, in the first game of the CC postseason against Washington College he gave the home fans a thrill collecting a hat-trick on just four shots in Dickinson's 6-1 win. During the NCAA Tournament run, he grabbed two goals and three assists on nine shots (two on target).Â
Third Team
Jarden, the resident of West Chester, Pennsylvania, was also a First Team All-Region selection after appearing in all 24 matches making 22 starts. On the year, he racked up 34 points thanks to 13 markers and eight assists both numbers were good for second in the conference. Like Iwowo, Jarden had a flair for the dramatic notching four match-winners during the season. He had three multi-goal games notching two against Goucher and Washington, while netting a hat-trick against Gettysburg scoring on his only three shots of that match. Over the four-game NCAA charge, Jarden recorded six shots (one on goal) and chipped in one helper against St. Mary's College of Maryland in the opener.
