NEWVILLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's cross country took part in the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on a drizzly Saturday at Big Spring High School.
Long Race
The Red and White went one-two in the standings for the 6k race as
Meghan Higgins-Haas won the event with a time of 24:24.6, followed by
Maddie Garber at 24:46.7. Three more Devils earned Top-10 spots as
Sophia Kovalski,
Jillian McNulty and
Jenna Kerns taking up sixth (26:00.5), eighth (26:32.0) and tenth (26:42.4) respectively.
Devon Culberson was next across the line in 11th (26:58.5), followed by
Lauren Scott in 12th (27:58.8) and
Emma Lewis (15th - 29:31.2).Â
Dickinson took home the team title with nine points as Bryn Mawr (19), Lancaster Bible (20) and Penn State-Harrisburg (41) all chasing them.
Short Race
The four-kilometer saw
Myra Naqvi be the highest finishing Devil as her mark of 15:20.9 was good for 19th.
Sarah Coates was the next DC athlete to come in crossing at 15:43.5 for 28th.
Elizabeth Barbash and
Breanna Franchak grabbed 30th (15:52.3) and 36th (16:09.6) respectively.
Marley Kurey rounded out the competing Devils by hitting the line in 16:37.6.Â
Led by race winner Olivia Warr with a 14:22.5, Washington and Lee won the team crown thanks to a score of 6, followed by Shippensburg (23), Kutztown (29), Lebanon Valley (33), Dickinson (53), Mary Baldwin (62), Chestnut Hill (76) and Bryn Mawr (78).
Combined Scoring
The Red and White claimed the overall scoring title holding off fellow Centennial Conference foe Bryn Mawr College in second.
Next on the Course
The Red and White will return to action next Saturday when they head to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to take part in the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.
