#14 Devils Offensive Pressure Too Much for Ravens

CARLISLE, Pa. - The 14th-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team continued their unbeaten run on Saturday afternoon by holding off the visiting Rosemont College Ravens by a score of 1-0 at Miller Memorial Field. The Red and White carried the offensive play all afternoon outshooting RC by a 24-4 margin, including 8-1 on target.

  • The opening 20 minutes saw Dickinson post five shots with Luke Beiles, Luke Finkielstein, Saul Iwowo, Ethan Jarden and Timi Omoniwa firing towards Gunner Hoffman who had to make just one stop.
  • Then in the 23rd minute, the Devils had a great opportunity for a 1-0 lead as Sean Rodriguez committed a foul in the box leading to a penalty kick. However, Iwowo's attempt was saved by Hoffman.
  • The Devils continued to be on the front-foot with Iwowo and Jarden combining for four more shots, were unable to solve Hoffman as the game went to half 0-0.

  • Hoffman was under duress early in the frame as he had to make a pair of stops against Omoniwa, before turning aside Beiles as well in the 50th.
  • Dickinson just kept on pressing and firing away with Nicholas Dwamena, Austin Holloway, Connor Uitterdijk, Jackson Wolf, Finkielstein and Jarden all letting shots go towards goal tasking Hoffman two more saves.
  • Rosemont finally recorded a shot with 79:37 gone, but Aidan George shutdown Antonio Amoroso.
  • That gave the Devils the chance to finally break through as Daniel Spataro would put the ball towards net in the 82nd minute. Fortunately for DC despite the attempt appearing to go wide a RC defender got a foot in the lane and deflected the ball into the net.
  • Dickinson added three more shots over the final five minutes tasking Hoffman to add one more stop to the ledger to preserve the 1-0 scoreline.
