WINCHESTER, Va. - The Dickinson women's cross country team got back to their winning ways on Friday night as sophomore Meghan Higgins-Haas won the Shenandoah University Twilight Open at the Kernstown Battlefield on Friday night. 

Higgins-Haas completed the five kilometer course in 19:29.5 to pace the 45 competitor field. She was joined in the Top-5 by Sarah Coates and Maddie Garber who nabbed third (19:56.4) and fourth (19:57.0). Three other members of the Red and White earned Top-10 slots with Sophia Kovalski, Breanna Franchak and Jillian McNulty occupying seventh (20:32.3), eighth (20:33.6) and tenth (20:45.2). The group of Jenna Kerns (21:27.6), Marley Kurey (21:29.3), Devon Culberson (21:34.8) and Lauren Scott (21:41.5) pretty much ran the race together and finished 15th through 18th respectively. Emma Lewis (22:34.0) and Abby Duffy (22:43.2) completed the final two spots in the Top-25, while Ellie Drescher hit the stripe in 30th at 23:38.5.

The Red Devils took home the team title with 23 points, followed by the host Shenandoah University (50), Mary Baldwin College (83) and Potomac State College (89).

Dickinson takes a week off, before returning to action on Saturday, September 28th at Big Spring High School for the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational. The action begins at 11:15am.
