WINCHESTER, Va. - The Dickinson women's cross country team got back to their winning ways on Friday night as sophomore
Meghan Higgins-Haas won the Shenandoah University Twilight Open at the Kernstown Battlefield on Friday night.
Higgins-Haas completed the five kilometer course in 19:29.5 to pace the 45 competitor field. She was joined in the Top-5 by
Sarah Coates and
Maddie Garber who nabbed third (19:56.4) and fourth (19:57.0). Three other members of the Red and White earned Top-10 slots with
Sophia Kovalski,
Breanna Franchak and
Jillian McNulty occupying seventh (20:32.3), eighth (20:33.6) and tenth (20:45.2). The group of
Jenna Kerns (21:27.6),
Marley Kurey (21:29.3),
Devon Culberson (21:34.8) and
Lauren Scott (21:41.5) pretty much ran the race together and finished 15th through 18th respectively.
Emma Lewis (22:34.0) and Abby Duffy (22:43.2) completed the final two spots in the Top-25, while
Ellie Drescher hit the stripe in 30th at 23:38.5.
The Red Devils took home the team title with 23 points, followed by the host Shenandoah University (50), Mary Baldwin College (83) and Potomac State College (89).
Next on the Docket
Dickinson takes a week off, before returning to action on Saturday, September 28th at Big Spring High School for the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational. The action begins at 11:15am.
