CARLISLE, Pa. - Coming off an emotional win on Wednesday night over rival Gettysburg College. The ninth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team went in search of another big three points in the Centennial Conference standings on the road at Haverford College. Thanks to tallies from strikers
Saul Iwowo and
Ethan Jarden the Red and White were able to leave Walton Field with a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon.
- The opening 45 minutes saw the Devils have complete control of the game as they outshot the Fords nine to zero.
- Haverford keeper Jackson Simon was under duress early and often as Connor Uitterdijk recorded the first shot just two minutes.
- The barrage would then just continue with Nicholas Dwamena, Luke Finkielstein, Mack Moore and Daniel Spataro all letting shots fly forcing one stop out of Simon.
- Following a stop by Simon on Luke Beiles, the Devils finally found themselves on the board with Jarden collecting his ninth of the campaign.
- Dickinson had a chance to make it 2-0 just before halftime as they earned a penalty kick, but Simon was up to the task to keep things at just 1-0 going to the break.
- The Fords came out of the blocks fast with Joey Carol and Kieran Kunihiro each recording a shot inside of three minutes, but neither bothered DC keeper Aidan George.
- A pair of Dwamena offerings did not find the mark in the 56th.
- However, the Devils just kept on pounding away with Jarden setting up Iwowo at the 59:17 mark pushing the gap to 2-0.
- Dickinson just kept on firing as Jarden hit a post and Iwowo was shutdown by Simon with 20 minutes remaining.
- Haverford recorded the following two shots with Thomas Vanni going wide left, before Oscar Guardo found Aidan Rodriguez to pull the home side within one at 2-1 with 78:42 gone.
- The rest of the game saw the Fords push hard for an equalizer, but George was able to shutdown both Aidan Lacy and Kunihiro to close out the win.
