READING, Pa. - The Dickinson women's volleyball team began the month of October the same way the ended September by posting another 3-0 win this time over Penn State-Berks in non-conference action at the Beaver Community Center on Thursday night.
- The Devils claimed an early 5-3 edge with Grace Coccagna, Amelia Kim and Mallie Thomas picking up the points.
- The trio of Madelyn Caris, Diana Stoltzfus and Jordan Thompson rallied back with four straight to jump ahead 7-5.
- However, a Willow Palmer ace and two kills helped out an 8-0 run for DC making it 13-7.
- PSU closed within 13-11, but Alexa Barowski, Jessica Currie, Cassidy Davis, Kim and Thomas answered back in a big way for the Red and White as the moved in front 22-14.
- Following three straight for the Lions, the duo of Eliette Whittaker and Barowski closed out the set for the visitors at 25-17.
- Neither team could seize the momentum early on as Emery Fishbach, Kim and Thomas helped DC to keep it locked up at 7-7.
- Dickinson then took four of the next six thanks to Barowski and Currie to grab an 11-9 advantage.
- A kill for Thompson cut the deficit to 11-10, before Camille Dofiles joined Barowski, Fishbach, Kim and Whittaker on an 8-1 sprint to make it 19-11.
- Two straight points for PSU were met with Dickinson ending the frame on a 6-1 push thanks to Currie and Whittaker (25-14).
- For the second straight set things were tight at the start with Lora Flynn, Barowski, Kim and Whittaker leaving the score at 8-8.
- After PSU jumped in front 10-8, Barowski, Kim, Thomas and Whittaker amassed a 9-2 run taking a 17-12 edge.
- The Lions did not go away however as a pair of Thompson kills helped the home side trim the gap to 20-17.
- Dickinson made sure they got no closer with Thomas racking up three kills, while Kim added two to finish the match at 25-20.
