Box Score 2 (Williamsport, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team dropped two matches at the Warrior Classic at Lycoming College on Saturday. The Red Devils suffered a 3-0 setback to host Lycoming in the opening match of the day and took a game from Gettysburg but fell 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 25-15) in the nightcap.
Lycoming posted scores of (25-22, 25-13, 25-19) as they improved to 3-5 on the year. First-year Emma Lange (Jupiter, Pa./Benjamin) led the attack with nine kills while classmate Jenna Schumann (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown Academy) added seven kills and 10 digs. Elise Butler (Chester Springs, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) tallied four kills, four digs and three aces.
Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) dished out 12 assists while Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) tallied eight assists.
Sophomore Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) led the defensive effort with 13 digs. She would add 21 digs, three kills and three assists in the second match against Gettysburg to earn All-Tournament Team honors.
Junior Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) tallied 16 digs and Schumann picked up 13 while recording a team-high eight kills.
Megan Gombatz (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) and Butler each had five kills with Morgan Biggs (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) four kills, seven digs, three blocks and pair of assists.
The Bullets improved to 9-0 on the season. The Red Devils move to 4-5 overall. They return home to face Elizabethtown College at 7:00 pm on Wednesday night.
