Box Score 2 (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team is on a roll, winning four straight matches after sweeping a tri-match with Haverford and North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday. The Red Devils started off with a 3-1 decision over the 'Fords in the Centennial Conference opener and turned back N.C. Wesleyan, 3-0, in the nightcap.
The Red Devils survived a marathon in the opening set with Haverford, claiming a 27-25 win. They rebounded from a 25-17 setback in the second to post back-to-back scores of 25-19 to capture the match.
Junior Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) led the attack against Haverford with 16 kills and nine digs. Classmate Lauren Beecher (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) reached double-figures with 10 kills.
Senior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) recorded 25 digs and six assists. Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) handed out 21 assists and tallied three block assists while Leah Guzick (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) dished out 15 assists.
Senior Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) added eight kills while Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) chipped in with seven.
The Red Devils swept the Battling Bishops (25-23, 25-11, 25-22) in the final match of the day. Bongo led a balanced attack with nine kills while Beecher and Park each recorded eight.
Misrok served up six aces to go with 13 digs and four assists. Ahern added a pair of aces and tallied seven kills and two block assists. Berezan finished her day with 23 assists while Guzick added seven.
The Red Devils improve to 7-5 overall. They are home again on Wednesday, hosting York College at 7:00 pm.
