Box Score (Selinsgrove, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team struck early and often on Wednesday, rolling to an 18-8 win at Susquehanna University. Junior Maddy Siebold (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) had a big day, scoring her 100th career point as a Red Devil.
Siebold had a very big day, scoring three goals and handing out three assists on the afternoon. She fed senior Jennifer Morrissey (Rockville, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel), just 48 seconds into the game.
She found senior Caroline Clancy (Monkton, Md./Hereford) for her 100th point, putting Dickinson in front, 4-0 with 23:03 remaining in the half.
The Crusaders went on a 3-1 run with first-year Anne Dunster (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) netting a free position to make the score 5-3, with just over 17 minutes on the clock. Sophie Waine (Wellesley, Mass./Greenwich) added a free position goal before Siebold found Morrissey again to bookend the half with the Red Devils holding an 11-4 advantage at the break.
Susquehanna tallied a pair of goals around Dunster's third goal of the game before a 4-0 Dickinson run stretched the margin to 16-6 with 13:32 left to play. Dunster handed out three assists in the final 15 minutes to give her six points on the day as well.
Overall, the Red Devils produced four hat-tricks with first-year Sam Marmo (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Immaculate Heart) and Morrissey each netting three as well.
Senior Moira Mahoney (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) controlled six draws and caused a pair of turnovers to anchor the defense. Siebold added three draws and four ground balls while first-year defender Lucy Reider (Parkton, Md./Hereford) picked up four GBs.
Junior Tara Cuddihy (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) returned to action, making three saves in limited action. First-year Sarah Blelloch (Raleigh, N.C./St. Mary's) made five saves for Dickinson.
The Red Devils improve to 6-5 overall. They return home to face Washington College on Saturday with the opening draw scheduled for 12:00 pm.
