(Chestertown, Md.) – The Dickinson softball team suffered two losses at Washington College on Saturday. The Shorewomen claimed the opener, 3-1, and the nightcap, 10-1.
The first game was a pitcher's duel as only Grace Edelson (Basking Ridge, N.J./Villa Walsh) homered and Denise Haines (Green Lane, Pa./St. Pius X) had the only other hit for the Devils.
Chelsea Homa (Newton, N.J./Newton) recorded seven strikeouts and allowed just four hits.
The Devils took a 1-0 lead in game two as Edleson singled and scored on a double from Nicole Piet (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) in the second inning.
The Shorewomen scored five runs in the third and added three in the fourth to lead, 8-1. Washington ended the game on a two-run homer by Kylie Nottingham on the bottom of the sixth.
Edelson went 2-for-3 in game two, scoring the Devils' lone run.
Dickinson falls to 9-15 overall and 2-6 in the Centennial Conference. They host Messiah College on Tuesday at 5:00 pm.
