Box Score 2 (Huntingdon, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball
team suffered a pair of setbacks to nationally-ranked teams at the
Juniata Invitational on Saturday.
The Red Devils dropped a 3-0 decision to #15-ranked Christopher
Newport in their first match of the day. The Captains captured the
first set 25-20 and pulled in front 2-0 with a 25-11 decision in
the second. The Devils battled in the third to try and keep the
match alive, but fell 26-24.
In the nightcap, the Devils fell in a three-set match to
#2-ranked Juniata College, falling 25-18, 25-14, 25-7.
First-year Emily Kisak
(Columbia, Md./Howard) led the attack against Juniata with
eight kills while classmate Joanna De
Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) served
four aces and tallied six digs.
Junior Kaylee
Britain (Wayzata, Minn./Blake) recorded four kills and
sophomore Avery Zuvic
(Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) added four kills and seven
digs.
Britain led the Devils with eight kills and a pair of aces
against CNU while Kisak recorded seven kills and a team-high 11
digs.
First-year setter Grace
Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) dished out 16 assists
in the Christopher Newport match and added 21 against Juniata.
The Red Devils (0-3) travel to Messiah College on Tuesday night
to face the Falcons at 7:00 pm.
