CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson softball team finally returned to the friendly confines of Dickinson Park on Sunday afternoon to take on Alvernia University in a non-conference doubleheader. The Golden Wolves used early offense to power themselves to a convincing 14-3 six-inning win in game one, before taking game two in a pitcher's duel 4-0.

Pitching Decision - W - Ryann Healey (3-1) | L -
Erin McMahon (2-2)Â
Inside the Game
- The visitors jumped out to a 5-0 lead during the top of the first using four walks along with singles from Angelina Sponheimer and Summer Montgomery coupled with a DC miscue during Jaclyn Barbera's at-bat.
- Dickinson answered with one of their own in the home-half as Jessie Sandusky worked a leadoff walk, before coming home on a RBI single through the right-side by Eden Blanker.
- Unfortunately for the Devils over the next two frames the visitors would collect five more runs. First, in the top of the second three straight singles by Mady Polonsky, Brooke Hauck and Sponheimer led to one coming around. Then, an inning later a single from Lauren Jascewsky and double for Alexia Fitzgerald scored one, before another DC error as well as knocks by Sponheimer and Montgomery resulted in three more and the 10-1 edge heading to the fourth.
- The last of the fourth saw DC scratch one across Marah Goldman opened things with a single. Then after a steal of second, Lauren Routzahn hammered a triple to right-center trimming it to 10-2. It became 10-3 an inning later when with one gone Sandusky and Lloyd walked, before McMahon ripped a single out to right-center driving in Sandusky.
- Alvernia put the game away in the front-half of the sixth as a single, error and sacrifice bunt had two on with one down for Jascewsky. She would deliver a two-run single to right, before a sac fly to right and another DC error made it 14-3 going to the last of the frame.
- Dickinson tried to start a little two-out rally with their last chance as Laia Gwathmey collected a single to right, but Grace Dibuono-Krafick would go down on strikes to end the game.

Pitching Decision - W - Ashlyn Hillanbrand (2-4) | L -
Abby Kohan (4-4)Â
Inside the Game
- Alvernia got on the board with two away in the front-half of the first as with a pair on base Taylor McClain picked up a single to left plating one. A free pass to Hauck filled the bags, but Kohan was able to induce a groundout to end the frame.
- Strong pitching in the circle for Ashlyn Hillanbrand kept the Devils off balance over the first few innings which allowed her teammates help her out with two more runs in the top of the first thanks to a trio of singles and a DC error to take a 4-0 edge into the fourth.
- Hillanbrand delivered a "one-two-three" third, before finally allowing a two-out hit to Blanker during the fourth. However, she could get no further than first as a groundout ended the frame.
- Base hits for Emma Varella and Elizabeth Raefski in the home portion of the fifth appeared to give the Red and White life with one away, unfortunately a grounder and a flyout spoiled the rally.
- After the rocky start to the game for Kohan she did not allow much and gave her team the chance to mount a comeback in the bottom of the seventh. A one-out three-bagger off the bat of Routzahn gave DC something to work with, but a strikeout and groundout finished off the game.
