HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Dickinson women's tennis team improved to 5-2 on the season, with a dominant 6-1 win over the Saxons of Alfred University on Friday afternoon to close out their spring break trip in South Carolina.

The Red Devils easily claimed the doubles point, only losing two games over the three doubles matches. Alisa Steele along with Loretta Szych with the first doubles game to finish, with a 6-1 win in the second slot. Next, the combination of first-year Chole Heller and senior Izzy Desjardins rolled through the third flight, winning 6-0 and claiming the doubles point. Jenna Crain and Natasha Sharnoff also claimed the doubles match in the top flight, 6-1. In the singles, due to a time constraint on the match, each match was played with one eight game pro set to decide each point. The Red Devils shuffled around their lineup compared to their previous matches this season, giving their usual top flight players a rest to give the up-and-coming players an opportunity. The only match lost was in the third flight, but first-year Natasha Sharnoff claimed the top flight 8-0. Both Anabelle Armendarez and Avery Williamson easily won their matches, each of the matches ending 8-1. First-year Rory Hansen claimed the fourth flight 8-4, while junior Maddie Lindquist won 8-4 in the fifth flight, with only her first game of the spring break trip.

The Red Devils (5-2) will travel to Middletown, Pennsylvania on March 22nd for their next match, as they take on Penn State Harrisburg at 3:30pm.
