CLINTON, N.Y. – The Dickinson women's squash team moved their season record above the .500 mark with a solid 8-1 road victory over the 25th-ranked Continentals of Hamilton College on Sunday afternoon.
Inside the Match
The only loss from the Red and White came in the eighth flight where Lila Brown was unable to overcome Mila Karimov. The Red Devils then claimed all but one of the victories in three games. Sophomores Anne Leakey and Katie Herring secured the top two flights with comfortable three game wins. Leakey has now improved her individual record to 15-2 on the season. First-year Gabi El-Masry was the only Red Devil victory with a game lost but was able to get over a tough second game to win in four games in the third flight. Junior Victoria Savelius played well in critical points in the first game, on route to a three-game win in the fourth flight. Thea Hegde made quick work of her opponent in the fifth flight. Senior captain Cate Moll and first-year Charlotte Derdeyn both only needed 11 minutes to overcome their opponents in the sixth and seventh flights.
