PHILADELPHIA – The Dickinson women's squash team fell just short of victory on Saturday afternoon, losing to the Mules of Colby College by a score of 5-4 in the second round of the College Squash Association Team Nationals at Specter Squash Center. This will end the Red Devils season, with a final finish of 19th place in the country and a 12-12 record.
Inside the Match
An entertaining match came to a heartbreaking end for the Red Devils, despite of some unbelievable performances. The match began with two wins for the Red and White. Sophomores Katie Herring and Thea Hegde both went the distance in the second and sixth flights but claiming the point for the Devils as they prevailed in the fifth game. Both matches had the crowd excited, with a nail-biting finish to both matches, in particular Hegde taking the fifth 15-13 after 55 minutes. The other two wins for the Red and White came in the first and fourth flight, with sophomore Anne Leakey battling through a close match, but winning in four games. Senior Anna O'Connor shook off some early nerves in the first game, to storm back and win the fourth flight in four games. The Red Devils were unable to find the fifth victory, as the Mules ended the Red Devils season here in Philadelphia.

The Red Devils 19th-place finish records the second highest in program history, making the 2024-25 season a historical one. It was also a record-breaking season for sophomore Anne Leakey, with her overall record on the season being 21-3 (all from the first flight). This is the best individual season record by any Red Devil in program history.
