CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Dickinson women's squash team dropped to 7-8 overall on the season after going down 7-0 against the No. 6 ranked University of Virginia Cavaliers.
Inside the Match
The Red Devils were unable to win a match for only the second time this season. Sophomore Anne Leakey loses only her second match of the season in the top flight, losing in four games. Leakey started the game off slowly, however, bounced back strong and played well in the third game, but couldn't quite do enough to force the deciding set. Fellow sophomore Katie Herring also came close to edging a game, going down in the third game 11-9 behind some controversial referee decisions. First-year Charlotte Derdeyn was able to return to her home town and play in front of her family, playing extremely well and putting up a good fight in the seventh flight.
