CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team continued their outstanding defensive run to begin 2024 by pushing the shutout streak to 270 minutes with a 1-0 non-conference win at Bridgewater College on Saturday afternoon.
Ava Prisco supplied the only goal of the match in the 71st minutes for her third of the year.
- The home side tallied the opening three shots of the match over the first 15 minutes, but none of them tested DC keeper Sophia Kavulich.
- Following a wide shot from Ashley McSweeney, Kendall Garza, Katherine King and Sophia Phillips all forced saves out of Kavulich as the match remained scoreless through the first 25 minutes.
- Dickinson applied a majority of the pressure over the remainder of the half with Lauren Ervin (2), Madison Mobray and Prisco combining for four shots and tasking Micah Stine to make one stop.
- Lyric Birkley, Skyler Daum and Cassandra Villafan recorded shots within the first 15 minutes, but were unable to reach Kavulich.
- Dickinson tried to take advantage of a corner kick in the 62nd as the ball found its way to Norah Andreson who sent one wide.
- Then, in the 71st, Prisco found the match winner as she collected a pass just outside the box and dribbled around the defense and slipped a shot past Stine that clipped the far post before skipping in.
- The Eagles had five of the last six shots in the match, fortunately though for the Red and White none of them got to their keeper.
