Inside the Game
Singles from
Abby Kohan and
Marah Goldman in the first along with a sacrifice bunt for
Eden Blanker had two in scoring position with one out, but
Zoe Kleeblatt and Renner were retired to end the threat. Dickinson had another solid chance in the second with knocks for
Lauren Routzahn and
Emma Glosson coupled with a wild pitch for Feaser leading to runners at second and third with one out. However, strikeouts of
Emma Varella and Kohan ended the opportunity. That gave the home side the chance to take a 1-0 lead in the home-half thanks to a triple and RBI single. Then, in the last of the third a pair of singles and a double helped the Falcons push the advantage out to 4-0 entering the fourth. The Devils were unable to mount any offensive rally over the next two innings as Feaser setdown the Red and White in order twice. In the sixth, the visitors had the opportunity to close the gap when with two away singles for Kleeblatt and Renner had runners at the corners. However, Routzahn would flyout to center for the final out. That gave the Falcons the chance to add onto their advantage when with one down a triple by Ali Wagner set the stage for an RBI single for Alexa Burger. She would then come around to score when Kandice Schlabach provided a two-run homer to left extending it to 7-0 through six. Maggie Chinnadurai took over in the circle for the home team to start the seventh and gave up a one-out walk to
Lily Hartley, before retiring the next two hitters ending the game.
Devils Circle Report
