CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming team honored their two seniors
Aaron Stern and
Daniel Vasquez in a big way on Saturday by securing a 182-61 Centennial Conference win over the visiting McDaniel College Green Terror inside the Clarke Aquatic Center in the home finale.
The Red and White began the day by placing three teams in the 200-yard medley relay. First, the group of
Nolan Chenot,
Daulton Kendall,
James Wright and
Justin Wong won the event with a time of 1:38.16. Next, the unit of
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Andrew Kelley, Stern and Vasquez finished second at 1:42.80, followed by
Benjamin Brandt,
Paul Florio,
Henry Lease and
Sam Strieb (1:47.61).
The podium was full of Devils for the 1000-yard freestyle as
Alexander Kanard won the race in 10:22.21, with
Aidan Keillor and
Ben Lilly taking up second (10:30.29) and third (10:33.99).Â
It was a "one-two" Dickinson finish during the 200-yard freestyle with
Jack Engel locking up the victory at 1:53.45, while Brandt nabbed second (1:56.41).
Kendall grabbed another win for the Red and White in the 100-yard backstroke by getting to the wall in 57.35, holding off Stern in third by two seconds (59.94).
The 100-yard breaststroke belonged to the Devils thanks to a victory for Kelley (1:05.15), which barely bested Florio and his 1:05.27.
Vasquez picked up his first win of the meet in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:03.10, while Chenot clocked in at 2:07.73 for second.Â
Colloca-Bianchi was the lone DC athlete to compete during the 50-yard freestyle and claimed the win by getting to the wall in 23.21.
The Top-3 of the 100-yard freestyle comprised entirely of Devils as Wong won the race in 49.82, followed by Lease and Lilly in second (50.77) and third (55.07) respectively.
The 200-yard backstroke saw Wright win a "head-to-head" race against Dimitri Raush-Gernet with times of 1:58.27 and 2:40.71.
Keillor seized his first win of the day during the 200-yard breaststroke by clocking in at 2:20.19, which was .01 better than Vasquez with his 2:20.20.
Florio became the newest member of the Red and White to triumph in an event stopping the timer in 5:05.49 for the win in the 500-yard freestyle, which was over ten seconds better than his next closet competitor Colloca-Bianchi at 5:16.74.
Two Devils made their way onto the podium for the 100-yard butterfly as Engel picked up another victory with a 57.17, while Strieb claimed third (1:04.33).Â
Dickinson went "one-two" during the 200-yard individual medley with Wright seizing the title by stopping the clock in 2:00.33, followed five seconds later by Kelley (2:05.82).
The final event of the meet was the 200-yard freestyle relay where the unit of Chenot, Kanard, Kendall and Wong won the race in 1:29.81, while Engel, Keillor, Lease and Stern clocked in at 1:33.70 for second.

Dickinson will now have to wait until Thursday, February 22nd to return to competition when they take part in day one of the Centennial Conference Championships at Bullet Pool on the campus of Gettysburg College.
