PHILADELPHIA Pa. – The Dickinson women's squash team rounded out a strong PA State Cup run on Sunday, with a competitive loss to third-ranked University of Pennsylvania 8-0 and a 7-2 victory against the Haverford College Fords. The Red Devils move to 5-2 on the season with the only two losses coming at the hands of top 10 ranked opponents. The Red Devils also finished 3rd overall in the PA State Cup, which is the highest finish in program history.

Inside the Match
The Red Devils almost produced two upsets in the first and fifth flight, having never had a win against a Top 3 opponent in program history. In the top flight, first-year Anne Leakey continued her impressive play to go down in four sets, and pushing Sohaila Ismail to play her best squash to come out as the winner. Junior Anna O'Connor also continued her impressive start to the season, having gone up by two sets, then eventually falling in five games to Grace Lavin.

Inside the Match
After needing to default the bottom two spots on the ladder due to inactive players, the Red Devils dominated the Fords, winning every match played without dropping a set. In the fifth flight, Anna O'Connor lost only 4 points on her way to victory. First-Year Gabi El-Masry had to work hard in the last two sets in the third flight but found a way to win for the Red and White. Sophomore Thea Hegde gave up 7 points in her win, with an 11-1 scoreline in her last two sets.
