CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming team opened up the home portion of the 2024-25 season on Saturday afternoon with a visit from Swarthmore College to the Clarke Aquatic Center. Unfortunately for the Red and White it would be the Garnet who collected a 142-63 Centennial Conference win.
The day started off with the group of
Daulton Kendall,
Samson Qu,
Justin Wong and
James Wright nabbing second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:35.79. The second unit with
Nolan Chenot,
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Jack Engel and
Aidan Keillor clocked in at 3:43.08 for fourth, while
Joe Apat,
Damon Buchanan,
Lukas Nier and
Jace Pedicone earned sixth in 3:54.84.
The quartet of
Alexander Kanard,
Paul Florio,
Benjamin Brandt and Matt Ferenz competed in the 400-yard individual medley posting marks of 4:32.11, 4:35.72, 4:41.70 and 4:44.53 respectively.
Three other swimmers went to work during the 200-yard freestyle with
Andrew Kelley (1:50.60), Engel (1:57.04) and Apat (1:57.66) claimed fourth thru sixth.
Kendall and Wong competed in the 50-yard freestyle clocking in at 22.32 (3rd) and 22.53 (4th).
Qu made his mark during the 100-yard individual medley as he reset the school record from 54.27 to 54.24 earning second, while Wright got to the wall in 55.05 to round out the podium spots. Keillor rounded out the athletes with a time of 1:02.29 (6th).
Two members of the Red and White hit the pool for the 200-yard butterfly as Chenot claimed third at 2:06.77, followed by Florio in fifth (2:10.89).
Kanard and Nier stopped the timer in 49.72 (3rd) and 50.33 (5th) respectively during the 100-yard freestyle.
The first Devils win of the day came in the 200-yard backstroke when Wright clocked in at 1:57.81, followed by Colloca-Bianchi in third (2:01.27) and Brandt two places later with a 2:10.52.
Four Dickinson athletes were in the pool for the 500-yard freestyle with Keillor (5:11.49), Kelley (5:15.14), Buchanan (5:16.67) and Ferenz (5:17.42) occupying third, fourth, fifth and sixth.
Wong landed just off the podium in the 200-yard breaststroke as he nabbed fourth at 2:20.37, while Apat and Nier hit the wall in 2:21.65 and 2:24.45 respectively.Â
The Red and White ended the afternoon strong with the team of Chenot, Kanard, Kendall and Qu winning the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.78. The other DC unit of Buchanan, Engel, Ferenz and Kelley taking sixth thanks to a 1:32.23.

Dickinson (3-1, 3-1 Centennial) will return to action in almost two weeks when they head down to the Battlefield for a conference meet against Gettysburg College on Friday, November 8th at 5pm.
