Devils Upended by Owls in Conference Action

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team attempted to secure their first Centennial Conference win of the season on Saturday afternoon when they welcomed the Owls of Bryn Mawr College to the Hays Tennis Courts. Unfortunately, for the Devils they fell just on the wrong end of the matchup falling 6-3.

Doubles (Owls 2-1)
The Red and White had every chance to flip the match in their favor during the doubles portion as both first and second doubles were decided in tiebreakers, while Anabelle Armendarez and Dana Kleinman grabbed an 8-2 victory at three. At number one Izzy Desjardins and Martine Fierro went the distance with Fernanda Hurtado and Nicole Lim before falling 7-8 (4-7 in the tiebreak). The duo of Ariana Goitz and Alisa Steele also needed a tiebreaker with Wynn Bryant and Lowrey West dropping it 7-9 to drop the match 7-8.

Singles (Tied 3-3)
Goitz claimed the Devils first win in singles as she slipped up in the first 2-6, but rallied back for wins of 6-1, 6-3. She was followed at three by Steele picking up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over West. At number one, Fierro took the first off of Lim, but then suffered defeats of 4-6, 3-6. Kleinman and Kelly Cole traded the first two sets, prior to the Owl taking the third 3-6. Kelli Eng then knocked off Molly Michel at six 5-7, 4-6. Armendarez fell to Hurtado 6-0, 6-0 in the four slot.
