HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team were competitive all afternoon, but ultimately came up on the wrong side of a 9-0 scoreline at the Bramall/Marshall Courts in Centennial Conference play.
Doubles (Fords 3-0)
The second pair of
Izzy Desjardins and
Alisa Steele along with the third unit of
Anabelle Armendarez and
Dana Kleinman both suffered 1-8 setbacks. The top team with
Martine Fierro and
Ariana Goitz took three games off of Rachael Fitzgerald and Abbey Russano in a 3-8 loss.
Singles (Fords 6-0)
Steele playing in the third spot against Fitzgerald traded 6-4 set wins, before the Ford secured a 10-8 victory in the super tiebreaker. Kleinman took on Sriya Krishnan at five and fought hard, but fell 3-6, 4-6. Goitz won a total of six games versus Russano at number two in a 3-6, 3-6 setback.
Molly Michel dropped identical 1-6, 1-6 sets to Annie Barrett at six, while Fierro could win just one game in the top slot against Ellie Esterowitz (1-6, 0-6). Armendarez went down in a shutout to Mimi Lavin by scores of 0-6, 0-6.
