PHILADELPHIA - The Dickinson women's squash team took to the University of Pennsylvania Squash Center courts on Friday morning for day one of the College Squash Association Team Championships. Unfortunately, for the Red and White they were not strong enough to overcome the Hoyas of Georgetown University as they fell by a score of a 7-2.
Inside the Match
Dickinson picked up their two wins at the top two slots in the ladder thanks to
Amna Fayyaz and
Whitney Finney as they each secured 3-1 victories. At the number one spot Fayyaz took a two games to none lead over Katie Hennessy, before letting the third one slip away 11-7. However, she stormed back to take the fourth 11-6 to win the match. Then, at the second flight Finney won a nip-and-tuck first game 12-10, before dropping a 13-11 slugfest in the second. Fortunately for the Devils Finney would not be deterred as she grabbed a pair of 12-10 wins to close out the match 3-1.Â
