CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's squash team pushed as hard as they could all Saturday afternoon, but were unable to overcome the visiting 17th-ranked Middlebury College as the Panthers secured a 7-2 win inside the Kline Center.
Inside the Match
The Red and White picked up a pair of four-game wins on the day thanks to
Amna Fayyaz and
Victoria Savelius. First, Fayyaz dropped the opening game to Lindsey Burnham 11-7, before rallying back to win the next three by scores of 11-7, 14-12, and 12-10 at the first spot. Then, in the fourth flight Savelius broke a one game all deadlock with a slim 11-9 win in the third, before downing Margaux Comai 11-6 in the fourth.
Whitney Finney gave it all she had against Abby Holding fighting back from an 0-2 hole to force a decisive fifth game after winning the third 11-5 and the fourth 11-6. However, she would fall in the decider 11-7.Â
